Privacy
dota2meta is a free stats site. There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no forms that collects your data. Nothing about you is sold. This page says what is stored and which tools collect data.
What the site keeps in your browser
- Your rank choice, in the browser's local storage, so every page can highlight it. It never leaves your device.
- A cookie called
rank_askedthat remembers you answered the "What's your rank?" question, for 7 days. It is not used to identify you.
Analytics
To see which pages are used, the site loads two analytics tools.
- Google Analytics 4. Counts visits and pages. It uses its standard analytics cookies. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
- PostHog. Counts visits and also records anonymous sessions, a replay of what happens on screen such as clicks, scrolling and which page is open, so the site can be improved. It keeps a session id in the tab's session storage, is not linked to a named person, and the session ends when you close the tab. See PostHog's privacy policy.
Both tools see your IP address and browser details as any website would, and they receive the pages you open on dota2meta.
Where the numbers come from
Hero and rank numbers come from OpenDota's public match data.
